Vetroblu is a photography studio portraying architecture, design and landscape in the Mediterranean region. As a passionate duo, founders Stefano Ferrando and Carla Canetto believe in beauty and complexity arising from a synergetic vision.
Launched in 2017, the studio partners with private clients, national public bodies and local institutions, crafting compelling, visually striking images suspended in between beauty and intimacy.
A search for uniqueness shines in the communication of architecture and design projects. Through harmony, form and order, the studio envisions images as means of experience, documenting each project’s artistic and commercial value and their significance to community and environment.
The commitment to narrating heritage and the evolution of urban and natural landscape at the hands of human activity has shaped a body of work rooted in the relationship between society and territory.
Vetroblu’s work has appeared in national and international publications such as Domus, Abitare, AD Italia e Spagna, Icon Design, Luce, Arc Magazine, Wallpaper e Urban Next.
Carla Canetto

The brain behind the studio. Carla holds the strategic role at the heart of Vetroblu. After working as a scene photographer, she co-founded Vetroblu in 2017. Her work is driven by the search for beauty, balancing harmony and order, rooted in organizational skills and defined by patience, empathy and vision. Her dynamic presence accompanies clients at every step of the creation process, through the conception, production and execution phases. She develops creative strategies shaped by each project’s needs and the client’s final goals. She’s Stefano’s right hand on set and supports him in developing public-commissioned landscape and heritage research projects. Her position as the face of the studio serves her natural leadership skills, passion for people and curiosity.
Stefano Ferrando
The eye behind the camera.
Stefano began his creative journey with a degree in Architecture from the University of Cagliari and a dissertation on the correlation between photography and landscape. Fascinated by the art as an interpretation of architecture, he moved to Venice and studied under the direction of renowned photographer Alessandra Chemollo. Stefano promotes the practice as an ethical form of creativity. His vision blends the intention to document and narrate the Mediterranean cultural heritage with a social conscience and a signature aesthetic. Since 2011, he has joined campaigns dedicated to raising awareness about heritage and landscape conservation, promoted by public bodies like the Ministero della Cultura Italiana, the Ajuntament de Barcelona, the DICAAR and Transparency International. He has worked predominantly in Spain and Italy, and his work has been published in international publications and showcased in museums and galleries like the Milan Triennale, the IUAV of Venice and the Pinacoteca Nazionale in Cagliari. Since 2016, he has led the Photography Course at the IED, Istituto Europeo di Design, in Cagliari.
PHOTOGRAPHER
Guglielmo Cherchi has a degree in Foreign Languages and studied Photography in Florence. He lives and works in Cagliari, for Studio Vetroblu, an Italian firm specialized in architecture and landscape photography. He dedicates his research to the relationship between humans and territory, and he’s driven by the desire to find visual coherence in marginal and basically disordered places, scattered with traces, signs and apparitions. Much of his most recent work is focused on the phenomenon of return migration, and explores the topic of cultural identity in rural Sardinia. In 2021 he was selected to be part of The Photo Solstice #3; in 2022 his series “The Places Lives” was shortlisted for the Terna Driving Energy Award and for the Urbanautica Institute Awards. His work has been published in magazines, books and catalogues, as well as exhibited multiple times in Italy and abroad.
